Melvin Anthony Squats
685 pounds
By Ron Avidan
 Melvin
Anthony likes to train heavy and hard. And today was no exception. In the midst of his training for the 2003 Pro Ironman,
Arnold Classic, San Francisco Pro and Maximus Rome Pro, Melvin went real
heavy on the squats. Today, he was trying for 700 pounds. Here is Melvin
getting ready by taping up his knees.
Concentration, and determination is the key, and
making sure you are ready for a heavy weight is also an important factor.
Melvin trains heavy when he works out, and has geared up to this heavy
weight. A spotter on each side is also extremely important.
Rarely do I see a metal bar bend as this one
was doing. Impressive yes. Dangerous yes. But Melvin works out heavy. Will
Melvin be ready for the spring shows. No doubt.
