A false rumor was circulating through the bulletin boards that Paul Dillett has committed suicide, that he was in a hospital, and died, over the fact that he broke up with his current girlfriend of six months. Nothing could be further from the truth. I spoke to Paul Dillett today, he said that he had heard rumors over that, and wanted to clear the air. 
While it is true that Paul and his girlfriend, broke up after the 2002 NPC USA's, over issues, that is all. Paul was hurt emotionally over catching his girl with another guy, but Paul will get over it. Here is Paul's comments on the issue. 

"I wish people would just leave me alone regarding my personal life. And I am amazed that someone said that I committed suicide. That is pretty low. My personal life is my personal life, and my bodybuilding career is a separate entity. If I am going to commit suicide, it sure as hell will not be over a stripper girlfriend whom I caught cheating on me. It is her loss, not mine. I just decided to turn off my cell phone for a few days to have time to evaluate myself, and figure out what kind of women I am choosing to spend my time with. Of course, I was disappointed when I found out that the person whom I thought she was, was just an illusion. This is the girl that I have been living with for six months." 

"You can take the whore out of the whorehouse, but not the whore out of the whore. You can't turn a ho into a housewife. I am definitely not going to kill myself over something like that. I don't know where these rumors got started from. I am most definitely not in a hospital, I am enjoying life with Lee Priest in Lancaster, California at the moment. " 

"I am fine. I have moved on. In fact, I am already seeing another girl. I am definitely working on getting ready for the 2003 Ironman and the Arnold Classic. I am starting my rehab work on my shoulder and my chest and it is feeling quite good. A lot of the tightness was coming from the chest (pictorial muscles) and pulling my shoulders forward. The doctor and I are working on it. I will see all of my fans at the Olympia Weekend. " 

"I am going to work on my poses correctly, quieting the people who say I cannot pose. Look at the old photos of me before my shoulder got bad, and all the poses were correct. I had a limited range of motion in my shoulders and could not pull them back. The problem was getting the rehab work done on time so you can do the poses correct. " 

"You try to change yourself as a person, and try to do the right thing. I tried to do the right thing with the wrong women. I was trying to be faithful to a woman who did not appreciate it. I was trying to be the new Paul Dillett, and not the old Paul Dillett. The new Paul Dillett values relationships. And that hurt me when I caught her cheating."
