Its with great regret I announce the death of Wilf Sylvester. Wilf passed away peacefully last Sunday, after a long illness.

Wilf won Mr World and Universe titles several times from 1967 through to 1984 (incredibly, whild holding down a full-time job at the Ford motor plant in Dagenham, London and raising a family).

Well known and liked by all the greats from that era (including Arnie, Sergio Oliva, Robby Robinson, Bertil Fox, Lee Haney, etc, etc) Wilf was a staunch opponent of steroid use in the sport, even taking the step of refusing to stock any steriod-based supplements in the gym he owned in later life and even banning known steroid users from his gym.

A service a burial take place in London on 29th September.

Unfortunately, photos and reprints of the many feature articles on Wilf are few and far between. The situation is so bad that even we, his family, aren't able to source any old photos, etc of our father.
