I was just wondering how fast i should do my reps. So people say go fast and do more reps and others say to slow down and do less. Help me out.

Tempo (rep speed) really depends on the goal of your program. Most tempos can be beneficial if applied correctly, so there really is no right or wrong tempo...only a right or wrong application of a tempo. Study the programs of Ian King and Charles Poliquin (since those are the ones who popularized tempo prescription) to get a better idea of when to use a specific tempo.

You can do for example biceps barbell curls going 1 second up and 2 seconds down with moderate weights. It helps to gain some mass.
