Shawn Ray. One of the top bodybuilders in the sport, and was going for a record in appearances in the Mr. Olympia this year. No more.

With a statement on the bulletin boards that confirmed rumors that were circulated, Shawn stated that he will not be competing at the Mr. Olympia come this October, even though he asked for a special invite earlier in the year. An official statement will be made this Sunday at Shawn's Muscle Camp about his decision, but here is what he posted. 

The reasons why Shawn has decided not to compete includes: 

A) Shawn and his wife are planning on starting a family which would be impossible under the Non Drug Testing State of Affairs. 

B) The Olympia contract is not an agreement to compete but a THREAT to Punish, Penalize and Sanction you if you don't do all the Promo Stuff around the contest that pays the promoter ie: Videos, VIP Cocktail Party, Interviews and Promotions bla, bla, bla... In the past, Shawn has signed the paper not caring about the contract but now he is older and wiser and this contract is to benefit one person and that is not the athlete. The athletes compete to make money themselves but with all the fluff surrounding this contract, the contest is an after thought to the Precluding BS that is being required of us. 

Shawn is out of the Olympia, and the contract is but one of many things wrong with the sport. It is so one sided and full of threats, Shawn ased himself why he ever signed it in the first place? Then again, it is tough when none of the other athlete will take a stand. Well, he has just took one.
