IFBB
Maximus Pro Invitational, Fitness EXPO Roma
The
the first edition of the IFBB Maximus Pro Invitational will be held in
Rome, Italy on March 29th, 2003. In conjunction to the show the Fitness
EXPO Roma, a huge bodybuilding and fitness expo, will take place over the
weekend in the city's largest events area the Fiera di Roma.
"We have several North American
companies participating in the Expo as well as many European ones. It'll
be great!" says promoter Alex Ardenti.
This is Ardenti's first venture
as a promoter but he feels confident the event will be a success and will
be repeated every year. Alex is better known to muscle mag readers as a
leading photographer in the industry and has actually graced the covers
of over 25 magazines himself worldwide.
So why promote a new IFBB
contest and Expo?
"There is a paradox in the European
bodybuilding market at the moment' says Alex. "The industry is growing
in leaps and bounds every year yet there isn't a trade show that caters
specifically to our industry. Bodybuilding is often used as a side show
and shoved in a corner of mainstream "fitness" expos. The Fitness EXPO
Roma will cater directly to bodybuilding fans and people who are truly
serious about fitness. We also plan on attracting that segment of the public
that isn't familiar with our world and I will try to present it in the
most positive light."
The IFBB Maximus has been able to
attract one of the best bodybuilders of all time Jay Cutler.
"I'll be shredded in Rome bro!
I'm coming to win!" Jay said recently Alex. "I'll win the Arnold, skip
the other shows and win again in Rome."
In addition to Cutler the Maximus
will be featuring Dexter Jackson, Markus Ruhl, Darrem Charles, Melvin Anthony
and a couple of newcomers..."freaks!" as Alex quoted them. There's a new
guy from Germany that will shock you.
Another novelty is the fact that
the show will have judging and evening show condensed in a 2 hour show.
This is rapidly catching on in Europe and is greatly appreciated by both
audiences and athletes alike. The athletes get done early and don't get
exhausted by competing all day and the audience just loves to see the guys
in the judging comparisons.
The Expo will be a show in itself.
Timea Majorova, Kim Lyons, Amy Fadhli and Tito Raymond
will be flown out to mingle with
the fans and hold exhibitions. An open photo shoot area will be reserved
for exclusive shoots of the top champs with the fitness models and will
be accessible to the public. World renowned photographer Rick Schaff will
be there to immortalize the champions for all to see, including all the
behind the scenes preparations.
In addition to the photo studio
an enormous gym will be set up inside one of the halls where the visitors
will be able to train with the bodybuilders and models all day long.
And if that wasn't enough Fitness
EXPO Roma will have free one hour seminars every hour on the hour by top
sports medicine doctors, champions, fitness models and nutritionists.
